Exel Transportation Services    (12/04- 08/07)                           

Inbound Field Coordinator

n     Managed carriers at the farm including drivers and equipment compliance with customer’s requirements.

n     Built relationships with carriers, with the goal of signing them up as vendors of Exel - to date, I have converted 10 carriers from Mac’s/TTS to Exel.

n     Negotiated rates with, and garnered capacity commitments from existing carriers. Gained daily capacity of 14 trucks from one carrier that would not haul for Frito-Lay due to past problems with the freight- the carrier is still active with Exel and hauling freight on a daily basis.

n     Managed relationships with farm managers, and virtually eliminated rejected trucks due to non-compliant trailers (eliminated a daily issue that typically cost Exel an additional $1500.00 per load—estimated savings $45,000).

Logistics Coordinator

n     Worked in Track and Trace operations for two months, given inbound responsibility for the Irving, Texas plant- increased on time percentage from 70% to 88% during first two months.

n     Manage inbound traffic to as many as three Frito Lay plants in a JIT basis.

n     Negotiated short-term dedicated trucking operations to meet the capacity demands of Frito Lay and maintain profitability to Exel.

Dispatcher, UPS Peak Program

n     Managed all aspects of the UPS Peak program, including driver dispatch, load track and trace, and communications of driver status and service issues to UPS.
